(WBNG Binghamton) The Broome County Older Drivers Network will host their second “Senior Safety Day” on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Broome West Senior Center located at 2801 Wayne Street, Endwell.
According to a news release:
Each of the following programs will teach good practices to keep you safe:
? Union Volunteer Emergency Squad – Learn the warning signs for stroke and heart attack, when you should call an ambulance and information about the Yellow Dot Program.
? Home Safety – Safety experts from the Broome County Health Department will share helpful hints about how to stay safe in your home, especially on preventing slips and falls.
? K9 Unit from the New York State Police – Watch how canines help protect the public and aid law enforcement in the field.
? Broome County Older Drivers Network – Presents Senior Drive, a Driving Wellness Checklist©. Visit with a Senior Drive Technician for a quick in-vehicle safety assessment as well as a complimentary tire check. Learn how to properly adjust your mirrors, steering wheel, seat belt and much, much more.
Participating seniors who attend all four programs will receive a special thank you gift. Pre-registration is requested by calling 607.778.2411 by September 14, 2012.
